Online marketing and online advertising candidates are now in high demand
In the age of e-commerce where everything can be done online, consumers are now more than ever before to shop online. As such, merchants are now trying to reap as much revenues as they can, through online advertising and online marketing on various internet sources. While traditional marketing role focuses on finding the target segments, implementing marketing strategies to promote company products and forming affiliations through the press and public relation; online marketing and online advertising candidates both require in-depth knowledge in the practice of e-commerce industry.
The emergence of e-commerce has represented both opportunities and threats to companies. As such, there are a lot of issues facing online marketing and online advertising teams due to discontinuous environment of e-commerce. First and foremost, online marketers and advertisers would need to find out how to get a website running effectively and efficiently. This task can be frustrating for a rookie, particularly with those who have only studied and learnt everything from college or university. One might need to consider the web hosting company, the number of servers to be included, website design template and website support etc. As far as I am concerned, unless you have studied e-commerce, you are very unlikely to understand all the behind-the-scene work.
For some online advertisers and online marketers who have had prior marketing experience in the online industry, this would be an advantage for them. The truth is, the society needs these people, internet advertising and online marketing are potential company investments that will convert money into sales dollar. Think about it, hit any one of "accounting position", "online marketing career" or "internet advertising position" on the search engines, and what will you see? You will then see advertisement publishers from every profession. If you are in a profession and have yet experienced the dynamism of online marketing and online advertising, I suggest you to pick up your gears in this field because you will need it in the future. Dos and Donts During the Job Interview
Donts
Dont whine about your past employer.
Dont interrupt anyone.
Dont beat around the bush. Keep your answers relatively short and straight to the point.
If the interviewer wants more answer, then go ahead and say more. At the same time, try to avoid answering "yes" or "no".
Dont ask about salary and other fringe benefits as yet. Save them till you actually got the job offer from them.
Dos
Maintain good eye contact at all times.
Prepare 2-3 questions to ask the interviewer. Think of questions about career path options, the team that you would be joining and projects that you could be working on.
Smile
